These mittens are inspired by a traditional Welsh pattern and were a Christmas present I designed and knitted for my mum. They are knitted in the round using a colour stranded technique. The body of the mittens are knitted first and the thumb is a classic ‘after thought thumb’ knitted once the body of the mitten is finished. Using a smaller needle throughout and the stranded technique create a super warm mitten suitable for colder weather.
